Jill Esser is Chief Actuary at Magellan Financial where she primarily works with insurance carriers providing insights into all aspects of product development, including product design, market research, competitive positioning, filing, and pricing. She works with investment banks to design and build solutions for insurance and investment products. In this role, Jill also provides ongoing training and personalized support for Magellan’s distribution.
Prior to working at Magellan, Jill held a variety of actuarial roles on the carrier side of the business at AmerUs Group, Aviva, and Athene. Most recently, she was Vice President of Annuity Product Development at Sammons Financial Group. She has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Jill graduated with distinction from Iowa State University with a Bachelor degree in Statistics and a minor in Economics.
